Why a great digital recruiter can assist with overcoming obstacles during the recruitment process.

Looking for a new digital or data job is a daunting task. It is natural to feel apprehensive about the process, from application to job interview.

Why?

None of us like rejection. The first hurdle will be to get a call back after you submitted your application, with a lot of employers not bothering to let unsuccessful candidates know of their fate. These days it seems common practice not to communicate at all with the candidate.

And if you actually land a phone call and job interview, that is when the nerve cells really jump into over drive.

The job interview is your one chance to shine. You only get one opportunity and it can be difficult to prepare and be the best you can be on the day.

Of course, some interviews go brilliantly, but others do not.

Some of the things that can go wrong include:

·      Miscommunication of the role – so often people talk past one another and before you know it there’s a misunderstanding about what is required for the job, or what the job entails and the interview can go awry.

·      Benefits – none of us like to talk about money in an interview. The topic is often left till the very end and then only glossed over. The type of benefits available to you should be discussed openly and frankly. It is only fair both employee and employer know exactly where they stand.

·      Curve ball – this can be anything from an unexpected question to a change in the interview procedure. It is important not to get phased by any curve ball.

·      Travel, pre-planned holidays etc – Sometimes life gets in the way of the best laid plans. It’s not uncommon for people to plan, book and pay for holidays in advance. And sometimes applying for a new job might mean those plans fall within the time you’re about to start your new job. Prospective employees can find it daunting to discuss their plans upfront and feel as if they’re letting the employer down.

So the question on everyone’s lip is how does a recruiter help?

Years of experience and hundreds (dare we say thousands) of interviews mean we understand interviews and their process.

We understand people.

As a recruiter you know what to expect. Knowledge is power. In our case this knowledge and power is there to help you, the candidate.

Strange as it may sound we can almost predict where things will go off the rail and jump in to help the candidate get back on track.

We wouldn’t put you forward as a prospective candidate if we didn’t believe in you. So our job at the interview stage is to make sure you are presented in the best possible light.

With our experience we are here to help you shine at your job interview. We want you to get the job. We don’t want you to fail.

We can sense when it gets tricky and are able to jump in and help. You can think of us as almost an interpreter, ready to turn a potentially ugly situation into a positive one for you.

You an spend many hours preparing for your one chance to impress, but bottom line is you can’t prepare for the experience, the experience of the job interview.

And that’s where we come in.

We ensure the process is efficient and working for you. Unlike you, we approach each job interview with a level head, a level head that knows how to overcome obstacles since we’ve seen them before.

So why not talk to us and let us help you find the perfect job and make sure you get that job.
